Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
In short
- For the account: only your email, Google account identifier and nickname.
- No ads and no analytics cookies.
- The database and files are stored in the EU.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Who we are
Who is responsible for your data
- Bavka (bavka.app) is a service for creating and hosting board-style quiz games. It is run by Rostyslav Bilan, a private individual (“we”), who is responsible for processing your data.
- Questions about your data: [email protected].
Data
What we collect
- Account: your email address and Google account identifier, and the nickname you choose yourself.
- From Google we receive only your email and identifier — only to create your account and recognise you when you sign in. We see no other data in your Google account.
- Your content: games, rounds, categories, questions, answers, tags, pictures, audio and video.
- Game participants accept invites themselves, with their own Google account. The owner sees their nickname and what they filled, not their email.
- Technical data: the IP address and request data — to protect the service from abuse; they may appear in the logs of our hosting and network providers.
Purpose
Why we process data
- To provide the service under the Terms of Use: run your account, store and show your games (performance of a contract).
- To protect the service and accounts from abuse and unauthorised access (legitimate interest).
- To comply with legal obligations that apply to us.
- We make no decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
Storage
What is stored on your device
- One session cookie: strictly necessary to keep you signed in, lasts 30 days, unreadable by scripts on the page.
- No advertising or analytics cookies.
- Browser storage keeps your nickname so pages show at once, the interface language and game progress.
- All of it goes when you sign out or clear the site's data in your browser.
Required
Do you have to provide data
- An email is needed to create an account and sign in; without it there is no account.
- Playing a game by link needs no account.
Partners
Who else sees data
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Railway — hosting; the database and files are stored in the EU (Amsterdam).
- Cloudflare — DNS and network protection; requests to the site pass through its network.
- Sentry — failure reports (page, browser, place in the code), without email, IP address, game content or secret links; data in the EU.
- YouTube — videos in questions are played from YouTube, which may set its own cookies.
- Other sites — if a game's author added a picture or file by link, that site sees the IP address of the device showing the game.
- Some of these companies may process data outside Ukraine and the EU, including in the US, under their own data protection terms, including the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Links
Public links and invites
- Anyone who has a game's link can open and play it without an account. The owner can turn the link off at any time.
- An invite works once: one person uses it. It shows the game's title, the owner's nickname and the category names. The owner can revoke it.
Retention
How long we keep data and how to delete it
- Account data and content are kept while the account exists.
- You can delete the account in Settings: right away or in 30 days; during those 30 days it can be restored.
- Deleting the account deletes your games and their invites. Participants keep their accounts, and categories you filled in other people's games stay with their owners.
- Some data may be kept longer where the law requires it or to protect the service.
Rights
Your rights
- Access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing — write to [email protected].
- You can complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or the data protection authority of your country.
Age
Age
- Accounts are for people aged 16 and over. Playing by link needs no account.
- We may delete an account created by someone under 16.
Changes
Changes to this policy
- A new version applies from its publication on this page; the date is at the top.
- We will announce changes in how we use your data on the site.
Any questions?
Write to [email protected] — we will answer about your data and help you use your rights.
